From the Publisher: FLINTLOCK is a company-level American Revolution gaming system at a scale of 40 yards per hex and about 50 men per counter/unit. The system emphasizes the limits of command, training, and discipline, all in the milieu of the very linear style of warfare in the pre-Napoleonic era. And the Flintlock mechanics for shock are most unusual.
Flintlock is designed for quick learning and easy play. Game rules cover almost every aspect of battle at this micro level in an accessible and comfortable length. Playing time is from 2 to 4 hours, depending on the size of the battle.
The battles chosen for Carolina Rebels, Volume I in the projected series, highlight small unit tactics in the grueling Southern Campaign. Some of the great commanders of the war, from Nathaneal Greene and Daniel Morgan to Lord Cornwallis and the infamous, but capable, Banastre Tarleton, are in action.
